Original jewel-toned stained glass panels provided a bold + whimsical point of inspiration for us as we re-designed our clients’ cozy bungalow. A family of five, their home needed to lend itself to the creative energy of young children, as well as reflect the refined nature of the adults in the house. Our primary goal was to further open the spaces to one another to create more functional + intuitive use of space, as well as inspire a more cheerful daily experience. We also chose to invert the previous material palette, doing away with the overwhelmingly dark wood cabinets and granite countertops, modernizing with crisp white built-ins + bold colors in the dining room, kitchen, eating nook and children’s bathroom. This added to the already whimsical aesthetic of their home, while the softer monochromatic grey master bath + brass fixture pops throughout provide a more mature touch. Now their space is completely unique + bright, making life easier + more enjoyable.
